Natural beekeeping / Top Bar Hives
One or two people (actually several) have expressed an interest in natural beekeeping, top bar hives, Warre hives and the like. I've started a discussion forum called natural beekeeping and posted an item asking if anybody is interested in building a top bar hive (or indeed any sort of hive) for the MBKA apiary at Gregynog Hall. I've also created a discussion thread called Natural Beekeeping to address other aspects.
If you're interested in this aspect of beekeeping, then please register your interest by contributing to the forum. It is only by finding out who is interested that we can try and cater for your needs with special articles, arrange for guest speakers or even courses etc.
Also the Links page has some links to web-sites in the Bee Natural section - contact me if you have any suggestions for good links to add.

Top Bar And Warre Hives
Hi,
Those of you who have visited the apiary at Grgynog recently will have seen that there are two Warre hives (one empty) and more recently a top bar hive which I believe now has a swarm in residence,
I hope some of our members may decide to run a top bar or Warre at home and we can compare experiences and build a core of experienced alternative bee keepers among the membership
