I ask because it is a least a couple of years - actually 3 -  since I last extracted and sold honey.  I know one member sells 12oz (or metric equivalent ) jars for £3.75 which equates to £5 per pound.  Is this the going rate nowadays?

Look forward to learning your view.

Roy.

There is a school of thought

There is a school of thought that says if everybody asked for £5 per pound, then that would definitely be the going rate. It seems reasonable to me, at least, given the time and effort, not to mention the cost, of producing honey.

Some customers don't seem to see it that way, but I think that there is enough demand (people who are happy to pay that amount) to satisfy supply.

The only reason to sell cheaper than £5 would be large quantities to retail outlets, but not many of us are in that position.
