If you think that you have found a swarm in Montgomeryshire this summer please do not disturb it : contact our swarm coordinator here (attach a photo if you can) or phone 01686 670347. He will put you in touch with the nearest of our beekeepers who has registered an interest in collecting a swarm.
Swarming is the natural way in which colonies of bees spread out when they become over-crowded in their hive. They are seldom aggressive when swarming, but do be careful.
Bees are absolutely essential for the pollination of many plants, but unfortunately they are on the decline in the wild. So please help bees by reporting swarms so that they can be given a good home.
Please follow this link to check whether it is an actual swarm or not!
